Tangen, Geir

The Norwegian author Geir Tangen was born in Øystese in Hardanger where he also grew up. In the family home, reading was highly regarded and already as a child he dreamt of becoming an author. After studying Politics and IT at university, Tangen worked as a freelance journalist for newspapers, radio and TV. He has also worked for Norwegian publishing houses and as a teacher in upper secondary school. He is married to Agnes Lovise Matre, who is also a teacher with dreams of becoming an author (her debut novel was published in 2012). The couple first started a joint writing project but after a while changed to writing on their own. Tangen and his wife live in Haugesund in south-western Norway and between them have three adult children from previous relationships. Besides his writing, Geir Tangen also runs Norway’s largest crime fiction blog with 170,000 readers.
