Arthur Benjamin Reeve was a successful American journalist and author of mystery stories in the first decades of the 20th century. He was born in Patchogue, Long Island, New York, and attended school in Brooklyn. He graduated from Princeton in 1903, continued at New York Law School but dropped out to pursue a career in journalism. After having been employed at various magazines in New York 1906–1910 he pursued a career as a freelance journalist and author. He married Margaret Allen Wilson in 1906.
