Padgett, Abigail

Mary Abigail Padgett is an American author of mystery novels. She was born in Vincennes, Indiana. In 1964, she graduated with a BA in pedagogy from Indiana University, Bloomington, and she started to teach English at a St. Louis high school. In 1969, she was awarded an MA in law from the University of Missouri. She married the mathematician Robert Michael Dolgin in 1965, and they had a son who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in his teens. The couple were divorced in 1982.
