MacInnes, Helen

Helen Clark MacInnes was a Scottish-American author born in Glasgow. She moved with her family to Helensburgh in 1912 where she attended the Hermitage School and the Glasgow High School for Girls before enrolling at the University of Glasgow in 1925, graduating with an MA in German and French in 1928. She then worked in libraries and schools around Glasgow and Dunbartonshire. She received a diploma in librarianship from the University College of London in 1931.
