Lidman, Sara

Swedish author, born in Missenträsk in Västerbotten, where she grew up in a freeholder environment characterized by Christian values. In her teens, she contracted tuberculosis and was at times treated at a sanatorium. After studying by correspondence she graduated from high school as a private student in 1944, after which studies in Uppsala – English, French, and pedagogy – led to a Bachelor of Arts degree and to a teaching position in Småland.
