Samuel Beckett

The Irishman Samuel Beckett is one of the most influential authors of the 20th century and a prominent figure within literary and dramatic absurdism. He was born in a wealthy Protestant family in Dublin. The death of his father in 1933, and also his contradictory and problematic relationship to his mother, became decisive for his life view.
