The American author David Baldacci, with family roots in Toscana in Italy, was born in Richmond, Virginia, as the youngest of three siblings. His father was a mechanic and his mother worked at a telephone company. Their son studied at Henrico High School before acquiring a B.A. at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond and in 1968 a Law degree at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Already as a child, he started to write stories, and for nine years while he worked as a lawyer in Washington, D.C. he wrote film scripts and articles for various magazines.
