Amis, Martin

Martin Amis was the son of author Kingsley Amis and his wife Hilary. He had a younger sister, Sally, and an older brother, Philip. Kingsley Amis was a doctoral student in Oxford when Martin was born. In the fifties and sixties the family moved between different university towns where Kingsley lectured. The parents divorced when Martin was twelve.
