Kim Småge is a pseudonym used by the Norwegian author Anne Karin Thorshus who was born in Trondheim. After having completed her education in 1964, she worked as a secretary in Trondheim. She studied economics at the Trondheim Økonomiske Gymnas and then read Norwegian, English and Geography at the University of Trondheim, graduating in 1977. In 1980, she became Norway’s first female diving instructor. She then worked as a teacher in Møre, Romsdal and Trondheim where she settled in 1988. She has been a full-time author since 1991. Thorshus is married to playwright Edvard Normann Rønning. They live on Valsøya island in Fosen district.
