Fox, Paula

The American writer Paula Fox was born in New York to the scriptwriter Elsie Fox and the author Paul Hervey Fox who did not want children, so they left their daughter at a children's home where Pastor Elwood Corning offered affection and encouragement as well as access to books. When she was six years old, her parents came to claim her, and Paula was sent back and forth between various relatives and friends of the family in Cuba, New York, Hollywood and Florida.
